As another year almost comes to an end, I am thankful for so many things in 2017.
Even though we’ve had some scares, and that is something I feel like will never end when dealing with this disease, I am so thankful for my beautiful children and for their health. Exactly one year ago today we had just heard the news that Julia’s disease had slightly progressed. That feeling of defeat, of hopelessness and not knowing what the future holds for your precious child is something I would never wish on anyone. But our hope and our faith continues to carry us through this journey.
We are beyond grateful for where we are today. Julia is doing so much better in school and truly enjoys being around her friends. This past year Julia also received Jesus in the sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time. She has been going to confession almost every week since she took communion. Jules is so amazing with her little sister… she has so much patience with her and can literally play with her all day. And Gabby is just obsessed with Julia… it’s really the sweetest thing to see how much love they have for each other!
David and Julia are in NY as we speak and Julia will be getting her 5th immune boosting shot today. And tomorrow she is getting her scans.
I know how quickly and easily things can change and life can turn upside down all over again based on what these scans show. So please pray that we have good results for Julia so that we can enjoy our Christmas together as a family. I hope and pray that this New Year will be nothing but good news and happiness for our family.
We are eternally grateful to each and every one of you because you have all become like family to us, praying for us and supporting us every step of the way.
To Jesus through Mary,
